The Comox Valley Regional District has partnered with City Green Solutions and the Home Energy Navigator Program to provide home energy efficiency support and resources to residents of the CVRD’s three electoral areas, the City of Courtenay, or the Village of Cumberland. An Energy Concierge will guide you through learning what energy efficiency means for your home, identifying what upgrades are best suited to your home and priorities, and help you take the first steps to improving your home’s comfort.
The CVRD has implemented a Residential Emissions Reduction Action Plan which aims to reduce the GHG emissions of the building sector by 50% by 2030 (from 2007 levels). The Home Energy Navigator is one contributing component of this plan.

The Home Energy Navigator Program provides support and resources to help you learn what energy efficiency means for your home, identify what upgrades are best suited to your home and priorities, and take the steps to improve your home’s comfort. Space heating and water heating represent more than half of a home’s energy consumption. Many rebate program are incentivizing upgrading to high efficiency heating and hot water systems. The benefit to you is saving money on utility bills, improved comfort for your home, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The CVRD offers various rebates to municipal and electoral area residents, and you may be eligible for rebates to help make your property more environmentally friendly.

CleanBC Better Homes is BC’s online hub for homeowners and businesses to access information, rebates and support to reduce energy use and greenhouse gas emissions in new and existing homes and buildings.
The CleanBC Better Homes website helps British Columbians to see all home energy rebates that are available. Each rebate belongs to a particular program, and each program has its own terms, conditions, and eligibility criteria. Select a program name to learn more about that program.
The Canada Greener Homes Initiative will help homeowners save money, create new jobs across Canada for energy advisors and fight climate change. Access up to $5,000 in grants, up to $40,000 in interest free loans, and up to $10,000 if you’re switching from oil to a heat pump. Select a program name to learn more about that program.
